Awards

Pro Bono Award

Each year GAP acknowledges a member who has given their time and talents to engage in pro bono work. This award is designed to acknowledge the dedication and motivation of an individual paralegal that has most enhanced the delivery of quality legal services to the less fortunate. The award is given at the first dinner meeting of the year following the recognized achievements. The winning paralegal will receive a one-year subscription to Legal Assistant Today and a special invitation to the February 2008 GAP dinner meeting along with his or her employer as guests of GAP.

The Pro Bono Committee is now accepting applications for the 2007 Pro Bono Paralegal of the Year Award. The deadline to nominate yourself or someone you know is October 31, 2007. Please send nominations to the GAP office. Direct any questions to Michael Misenheimer at atlantaparalegal@gmail.com.

Employer of the Year

Each year GAP honors a paralegal employer who encourages educational advancement and continued legal training for paralegals; encourages interest and active participation in GAP; and mentors paralegals to work toward establishing and achieving professional goals. The winner is an honored guest at GAP’s Holiday Dinner, where the award is presented.

Applications for the 2007 Employer of the Year must be submitted no later than November 16, 2007.

GAP and a selected sponsor (or sponsors) awards one or more PACE Scholarship Packages annual. The scholarship amount covers the following items for each package:

  • application fee to take PACE
  • the costs of the applicant handbook and the PACE Study Manual
  • a $50 credit towards either the online practice exam or online review course
  • registration fee for the GAP Holiday Dinner where the scholarship will be awarded
